- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips
- 1 cup (180g) candy-coated chocolate pieces, divided
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold these dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and half of the candy-coated chocolate pieces.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining candy-coated chocolate pieces on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares.
- Optional: Press more candy-coated chocolate pieces onto the brownies while still warm or drizzle melted chocolate over the top.
Notes
Make sure to let the melted butter cool slightly before mixing with sugars. Don’t overmix the batter for fudginess.
