- 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- Lemon slices for garnish
- Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add the salmon fillets, skin side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the fillets and cook for another 4-5 minutes until they are fully cooked. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, lemon zest and juice, and broth.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken for about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped dill and return the salmon to the skillet to coat it in the sauce.
- Serve garnished with lemon slices and fresh dill sprigs.
Notes
Ensure your skillet is hot for a nice sear and do not overcrowd the pan.
