- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- For the Butter Pecan Glaze:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Additional chopped pecans for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, folding in the toasted pecans gently.
- Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- For the glaze, melt the butter in a small saucepan, and then add brown sugar and cream. Stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and add more pecans on top if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure your butter is melted and cooled before adding it to avoid cooking the egg. Toasting the pecans enhances their flavor.
