- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Optional: Sprinkle extra sugar on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look soft but will firm up as they cool.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Serve and enjoy!
