- 1 box (18 oz) brownie mix
- Ingredients as listed on the box (eggs, water, oil)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups flour
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9 pan with parchment paper or greased foil.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips. Pour this batter into the prepared pan and bake as directed on the package. Let it cool completely.
- Cut the cooled brownies into 1 1/2-inch squares.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Scoop out two 1 1/2 tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough. Flatten each ball and place a brownie square on one. Top with the other flattened dough and seal it in.
- For the best results, freeze the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake the cookies for 13-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack. Enjoy warm!

Best served warm for maximum gooeyness. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
