Description

A delightful treat that combines soft cookies and fudgy brownies in one delicious dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (18 oz) brownie mix
  • Ingredients as listed on the box (eggs, water, oil)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9 pan with parchment paper or greased foil.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips. Pour this batter into the prepared pan and bake as directed on the package. Let it cool completely.
  3. Cut the cooled brownies into 1 1/2-inch squares.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  5. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs.
  6. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Scoop out two 1 1/2 tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough. Flatten each ball and place a brownie square on one. Top with the other flattened dough and seal it in.
  9. For the best results, freeze the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  10. Bake the cookies for 13-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  11. Let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Best served warm for maximum gooeyness. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
