Description

A comforting dish that combines tender broccoli with rice and creamy cheese, perfect as a side or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, steamed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cooked rice, steamed broccoli florets, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Spread the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  3. Toss the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle them on top of the casserole.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and golden brown.
  5. Let it cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Use leftover rice to save time on preparation. You can add cooked chicken or turkey for added protein.
