- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- Garnish: chocolate shavings or cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter, and press this mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Fold in the melted chocolate and vanilla extract gently.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then fold in the whipped cream mixture until fully combined.
- Pour the mousse over the cooled crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese is softened. Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor.
