- 3 layers of chocolate cake
- 70% dark chocolate (for curls and decoration)
- 1 cup kirsch (cherry schnapps)
- Whipped cream
- Cherries (for topping)
- Sugar
- Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate cake by mixing flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, eggs, milk, and melted butter. Pour the mixture into three round pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once the cakes are cooled, soak each layer with kirsch to add flavor and moisture.
- Whip the cream until soft peaks form, adding sugar and vanilla to taste for sweetness.
- Layer the cake by spreading whipped cream and cherries in between each of the three layers.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining whipped cream.
- Decorate the cake with chocolate curls and cherries on top for a beautiful presentation.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. Use high-quality dark chocolate for best results.
