Description

A delicious and satisfying dish that combines tender beef, colorful vegetables, and chewy noodles in a flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein or yakisoba noodles
  • 1/2 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Prepare noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef strips until browned, about 2–3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Stir-fry broccoli and bell pepper for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch slurry.
  5. Add cooked noodles, beef, and sauce back to the pan. Toss everything together for 2–3 minutes until heated through and well coated.
  6. Plate hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Best served hot. Can be garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds.
