Description

A delicious Chinese dish combining tender beef, colorful vegetables, and noodles, perfect for an authentic takeout experience at home.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 1/2 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Marinate Beef: Toss the sliced steak with cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Prep Noodles: Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Cook the beef until browned, then set aside.
  4. Veggies: In the same pan, sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Add broccoli, red bell pepper, and carrot; cook until crisp-tender.
  5. Combine: Return beef to the pan and add the cooked noodles along with the sauce mixture. Toss to combine and heat through.
  6. Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and enjoy hot.

Notes

Slice beef thinly for quick cooking. You can add your favorite vegetables and adjust sauces to taste.
