A quick and easy beef and broccoli lo mein dish that brings classic Chinese takeout flavors to your kitchen.

- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli and onion. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ground ginger (if using).
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet along with the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to combine everything evenly.
- Serve the beef and broccoli lo mein hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding more vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
