Description
Delightful brownies mixing rich chocolate flavor with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (226 grams)
- 2 cups white sugar (400 grams)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed bananas (240 ml), about 2-3 large, brown bananas
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (156 grams)
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder (60 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (270 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) or 170°C for a fan-forced oven. Line your baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and sugar in the microwave. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in the mashed bananas.
- In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet mixture, leaving some lumps from the bananas.
- Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes.
- Allow the brownies to cool for 4 hours before slicing them into squares.
Notes
For best results, use overly ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter for a fudgy texture. You can also add nuts for added crunch.
