- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk (or any non-dairy milk)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa powder.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour in the milk and stir until smooth.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure bananas are really ripe for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies soft.
