Description

Delicious and easy-to-make tacos featuring crispy fried fish, fresh toppings, and warm corn tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Season the fish with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dip the fish in buttermilk, then coat in a mixture of flour and cornmeal.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing fried fish on tortillas, topping with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.

Notes

Serve with papas fritas on the side. Store leftovers separately for best results.
