- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate pudding (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chunks
- Fresh raspberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well mixed. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping.
- In a trifle dish, layer cookie crumbs at the bottom, then spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture, followed by a layer of chocolate pudding. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Finish with a layer of whipped topping. Sprinkle chopped dark chocolate on top and garnish with fresh raspberries, if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
To make a lighter version, use light cream cheese and reduced-fat whipped topping. You can also make this trifle a day ahead for enhanced flavor.
