- 1 9-inch deep-dish pie crust (prebaked)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced and patted dry
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet, sauté onions over medium heat until golden and soft (about 10–15 minutes). Set aside.
- In the prebaked crust, layer half of the bacon, caramelized onions, and tomatoes.
- In a bowl, stir together cheeses, mayo, egg, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Spread cheese mixture over the layered filling. Top with remaining bacon. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Make sure to pat the tomatoes dry before adding them to the pie to prevent it from getting soggy. You can add more vegetables or use different types of cheese based on preference.
