  • Rum or brandy
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried cherries, raisins, dams, orange peel, and confited lemon with rum or brandy for at least 4 hours.
  2. Beat the butter with sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Incorporate the dry ingredients and spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.
  4. Mix in the soaked fruits and nuts into the dough.
  5. Bake at 165 °C (329 °F) for 60 minutes.
  6. Let it cool and brush with more rum or brandy. Optionally, decorate with glazed cherries or icing sugar.
