  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp clove
  • 1 grated lemon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Soak fruits: Combine the dried fruits with rum or brandy and marinate for at least 240 minutes.
  2. Prepare dough: Beat the butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and grated lemon. Mix in the dry ingredients and spices.
  3. Add fruits and bake: Stir in the soaked fruits and nuts into the dough. Pour the mixture into a baking pan and bake at 165°C (325°F) for 60 minutes.
  4. Finish: Let the cake cool and brush with more rum or brandy to enhance flavors. Decorate with glazed cherries or sprinkle icing sugar on top.
