- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- White cream (buttercream or similar)
- Chocolate ganache
- Fresh strawberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar and vegetable oil, then add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, alternating with milk until well combined.
- Divide the batter equally among the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with white cream in between each.
- Pour chocolate ganache on top and decorate with fresh strawberries.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. You can bake the cake layers a day in advance, and variations in flavor can be achieved by using different extracts.
